In hallways and stairwells we step up to a scrubbable acrylic eggshell so dirt comes off without burnishing. Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion and Modern Emulsion are specified for clients who want the company's signature pigment depth. Modern Emulsion gives a wipeable surface; Estate Emulsion sits flatter and richer. We will always tell you honestly when a cheaper product would deliver an indistinguishable finish. Woodwork is normally finished in a water-based satinwood, typically Tikkurila Helmi or Dulux Diamond, to avoid the yellowing that plagues older oil-based gloss.
