Edwardian and 1930s Ascot homes often have surviving original cornice and centre roses that have been over-painted six or seven times. Rather than skim them flat, we strip back where appropriate and reinstate the original detail.
South-facing exterior weathering
Properties along Winkfield Road and the southern slopes of Sunninghill take heavy southerly weather and UV. South elevations need more frequent maintenance and proper breathable coating specification, not film-forming masonry paint.
Hardwood joinery and bespoke doors
Bespoke oak and walnut joinery is common in larger Ascot homes. We stain, oil and seal these properly rather than painting over, and we'll often refresh existing finishes rather than strip back unnecessarily.
